Position Summary

  • Perform and review audit analytics (transactional exception and visual analyses), ensuring the following:  Analytics are developed to meet the varying objectives of audit (e.g., erroneous or unusual transactions, operational inefficiencies, fraud, etc.); Visual analyses are comprehendible and accessible to non-data oriented staff; Transactional analyses are developed in a responsible fashion (repeatable, quality assured and well documented); Results are generated that are appropriate for review and are presented in a well-organized manner; and Effective management of the relationship between the analytics team and the audit team, ensuring that the right analytics are developed / performed and feedback is obtained to ensure continuous improvement, efficiency and quality assurance.
  • Develop the audit analytics program, including, but not limited to: Building the “library of audit analytics” over-time; Ensuring the process, protocol and methodology is documented and periodically revisited; and be a resource to the audit department regarding our technology assets (e.g., ACL, etc.) and our business applications (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, Workday, Concur, etc.).
  • Mentor and manage any related staff or external personnel engaged with Audit Analytics.
  • Ensure up-to-date and adequate knowledge and understanding of the business, application or data being analyzed.
  • Assist the department in reporting and analyses of internal data for the preparation of scorecards and presentations to leadership and the audit committee.
  • Manage, monitor and analyze budgets and actuals for audit analytics projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in computer science (CS), management information systems (MIS), accounting, or finance is required.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience working on data / audit analytics, business intelligence or related analytical engagements.  A combination of accounting, finance and analytical experience will be considered.
  • Advanced scripting, statistical and analytical skills, including knowledge of ACL (preferred), Python (preferred), R, SAS, SQL, or other related scripting or querying languages. High degree of experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau (preferred), Qlikview, SAP BW, Cognos, or other related tools.  Comprehend data structure, linkages and schemas, both structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience working with common ERP applications, such as: SAP (preferred) or Oracle. Experience working with databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle is preferred.
  • Professional certification preferred (CPA, CFE, CIA, CMA, CISA), but not required.
  • Must possess an analytical mind that can analyze data effectively, identify outliers and draw inferences / conclusions based upon these observations. Problem solver using a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis.  Especially related to the munging and management of data.
  • Must possess strong management skills and be able to direct and manage staff.  Initiative (a self-starter) and be able to lead and perform with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communications and report writing skills. Communicate and present to all areas and levels within the company.  Must maintain confidentiality of all audit and investigative assignments.
  • Read and interpret complex business and/or technical specification documents. Write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint similar software related to presentations and analysis.
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (approximately 5-10%).
  • Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is required.
